Guthrie is a town of about 10,500 people located in Logan County, north of Edmond and Oklahoma City. Established in 1887 as a railway stop known as Deer Creek, it became the first Capitol city of the state of Oklahoma in 1907, before being moved to Oklahoma City in 1910. Today, Guthrie is a quiet town with plenty of living space and is home to many farms and ranches. The downtown area features several restaurants and shops and is noted for the Victorian architectural style of many buildings. Thunder Moving is familiar with the Guthrie area and has completed moves ranging from the downtown area to ranches outside of town.

One of the main things we encounter on moves in the Guthrie area is unpaved roads that are not well maintained (potholes, anyone?). This can pose a few different challenges – rain can mean many of these roads are impassable for our trucks and those pesky potholes can increase the potential for damage to items. We love it when our customers communicate with us and we work together to formulate a plan that helps us avoid some of the rough terrain in the area in order to protect belongings and ensure a smooth transition.
